Since opening our doors in 2022, Stepping Stone has distributed over 200,000 diapers, countless hygiene and feeding supplies, 232 strollers, and more than 215 car seats. We've made 1,650 deliveries to families and children across Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
Collection drives play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission. Not only do they help us stock up on essentials, but they also enable us to extend our services to even more local families in need.

The most successful drives focus on collecting items in one of the single categories listed below, such as diapers, hygiene, or feeding supplies, so we encourage you to select a theme for your group.

If you’re interested in donating gently used children’s items to Stepping Stone—clothes, for instance—you don’t need to have a collection drive. Just bring those items to our office during our regular donation hours.

For maximum reach and impact, be sure to tag Stepping Stone on social media (@steppingstonecville) both for promotion and if your drive is open to the public.
You can deliver the items you collected to the Stepping Stone office during our regular donation hours. Be sure to include your name and your organization’s information with your drop off so we can properly thank you for your kindness.
Themed Ideas
Diaper and Pull-Ups Drive
We always need diapers, and love when groups hold diaper drives! We accept sizes preemie/newborn through size 7. As for Pull-Ups, we need sizes 2-3T, 3-4T, 4-5T. Wipes are also extremely helpful to include in your drive. Please note: we DO accept opened sleeves, packs, and boxes of diapers and Pull-Ups!
